Access Statement

Miskin Manor Hotel is a grade 2 listed building. Whilst this means we have inherited some beautiful architectural details it also means that the structure of the building presents some physical barriers to accessibility.
If you have any special needs, please contact us before making a reservation so that we can try to meet your requirements as best we can.

Contacting us
We welcome correspondence by phone, fax, letter or e-mail and we will endeavour to respond by whichever means is most suitable for you.

Location
Miskin Manor is approximately 1 mile off junction 34 of the M4 on the A4119.
The signage guides you down a lane which ends with impressive gates leading onto the grounds of the hotel. At this point, signs direct you to either, the main hotel entrance, the conference centre or the health club.

On arrival at the front of the hotel
Designated parking spaces are signposted outside the main entrance. To reach the main front door there is a slight ramp. The reception is slightly to your left as you enter and is all on one level with no steps. The double door main entrance is covered by CCTV, however it is not automated.

Reception
Reception is located on the ground floor and is accessible on the flat. The reception area is well lit and we have a magnifying glass available to assist guests with check-in forms if required. Help with luggage is available but please note that guests may have to wait for assistance with particularly heavy items as not all members of staff can safely manage heavy lifting. All public area corridors have wooden and marble flooring; stairways are carpeted throughout the hotel.

Ground floor
The lounge and drawing room areas are located to the right from the front entrance. The furniture is a mix of armchairs, sofas and freestanding tables. The bar is at a height of 1 metre 18cm.
The Meisgyn Restaurant, where breakfast and evening meals are served, is located next to the lounge, through a wide arched doorway. The furniture is freestanding and chairs with arms are available if required.
Waiter service is always available and menus with large print can be arranged on request. Staff will always be willing to read out the menu if guests would find this more suitable.
Most diets can be catered for by prior arrangement. We regret we do not have menus in Braille.
Toilets are located on the ground floor, with two sets of Ladies and Gentlemen’s toilets and a separate toilet for wheelchair users. The payphone is located in the reception area.

Bedrooms
There are 43 guest rooms located on the ground, first and second floors and all are non smoking. There are 6 ground floor rooms. There are no lifts at the hotel. Each floor is accessed by stairs with handrails running all the way up to each floor. All rooms vary in size and style and we will always try to match rooms to guest requirements.
All bedrooms are en-suite with a shower or a bath, sometimes both. There is a small step to get into shower cubicles. Non slip mats are available for showers and baths and our bathrooms are tiled. All rooms have remote control TV’s, corded kettles and phones. Mobile phone coverage is generally good and improving but varies with each service provider. Chairs with arms are provided in each room. The fire alarm is audio only. Reception is staffed from 7am until 11pm and can be contacted via bedroom phones. We have night porters who can offer assistance in an emergency over night.

Function Rooms
All our main function rooms are located on the ground floor and have cloakroom facilities on the same level.
There is a ramp to the function rooms in the main corridor to enable easy access for wheelchair users. The Oak Room is located on the ground floor but has 4 steps into an ante-room and a further 2 steps into the main room. The furniture is solid oak carver chairs and tables and would be unsuitable for wheelchair access.

Health Club
The Health Club is accessed by double doors located along the main car park entrance. All areas are on the ground floor and assistance can be offered to those guests that require it into the pool and gym areas.

General
Comments and suggestions from guests that could be included in our statement are always welcome.
We will continually update our statement as alterations and improvements occur at the Miskin Manor Hotel.
Please do not hesitate in asking any further questions that will help you to decide if we can meet your requirements for an enjoyable stay.
